Option 1 — App: Turn the key. The system detects ignition and asks: "Is this you?" Tap "It's Me" — protection releases and your car is ready to drive.

Option 2 — Enable: A secondary method is provided with every installation. Works independently — whether your device is online or offline, this method will always let you start your car. No phone, no internet, no app required. Details provided to owner at installation.

If your device goes offline, use this method to start your car normally, then contact us so we can check why it went offline. Common reasons: monthly data limit exceeded (SIM paused) or a temporary network issue. Important: if your device is offline, you will not be able to track your car or stop it remotely — this is why we encourage every customer to regularly check their device status in the app and make sure it is showing online and protected. In a robbery situation, an offline device means no tracking — so keeping your device online is critical. What exactly does the $250 include? ▼
The $250 includes the CGD CAR hardware device and a detailed installation handbook shipped to your address. You install it yourself or take it to any local mechanic. We do not provide installation service.
When does the $14.99/month start billing? ▼
The subscription starts as soon as you activate it in step 3 of the order. It gives you immediate access to the app, 4G cellular service, GPS tracking, and all alerts.
Can I cancel the subscription? ▼
Yes — cancel anytime directly from your PayPal account. No calls, no fees, no questions. Note: if you cancel the subscription, the device will stop transmitting — meaning live GPS tracking and remote stop will no longer work. Your car will still have the device installed but it will be inactive. We recommend keeping the subscription active especially if your car is at risk of theft.
How does the remote stop feature work? Is it safe? ▼
When you tap STOP in the app, a command is sent over the 4G cellular network to your device. The app first checks the current speed — if the car is still moving, you will hear a voice alert saying "Please wait, the car is still moving" and the command will not be sent until speed reaches zero. This prevents accidents. Once the car is stopped at a traffic light, gas station, or anywhere safe — the stop command fires and the engine cuts.
Do I need to download an app? ▼
No download required. Just open app.cgdcar.com in Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android. It works like a full native app in the browser. You can add it to your home screen for quick access.
What if the thief took my phone too? ▼
No problem. Open any computer or another phone, go to app.cgdcar.com:4443, log in with your username and password, and you have full control — track the car and stop it remotely from anywhere.
Will the device work if my car is stolen out of state? ▼
Yes — the device connects to the 4G cellular network which covers most of the USA. You can track and stop your car from anywhere in the country as long as there is cellular coverage in the area.
